Jeannette Maher, 81, River Edge Resident

RIVER EDGE, N.J. -- Jeannette Maher -- a River Edge resident, formerly of Hackensack -- died on Wednesday, March 1. She was 81.

Born in Floral Park, New York, Maher graduated from St. Clare's Hospital Nursing School in New York and was an RN for over 40 years. "Her nurturing and caring spirit carried on long after her retirement," information from the funeral home noted.

She was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle Church, in River Edge. 

Maher is survived by her children, David of River Edge, Nora of New Milford, and Anne Marie and her husband Donald Wagner of Dumont; grandchildren Courtney, Donald, Kaitlin and Bridget; sister Madeline Hazlett, sisters-in-law Alada Faber, Jane Faber and Alice Weaver; brother-in-law Robert Hoffman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

She was preceded by her husband Francis; parents Henry and Margaret (Sheehan) Faber; siblings Bill Weaver, Ruth Frazier, Mary Ann Hoffman, and Marguerite, Virginia, Henry and Eugene Faber; and brothers-in-law Bobby Frazier and Harold Hazlett.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 4, from the William G. Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Rd., in Oradell, then to St. Peter the Apostle Church for a 10 a.m. mass. Interment will follow, at Maryrest Cemetery, in Mahwah.
